With a diverse background including vessel operations, new construction, and repair, Jim brings strong project management skills and technical expertise to Maritime Consulting Partners, LLC. Jim believes that understanding the customer’s goals and operational or technical challenges is the key to providing high value service to our clients.
Jim’s career is entrenched in the marine industry. From his first job as a deckhand he rapidly earned his way into the wheelhouse and then shoreside into operations management. From there he moved into vessel construction with a premier shipbuilder where he worked as a project manager for 14 years, building world class aluminum workboats. Jim now serves clients in all segments of the industry, bringing his experience, skill, and measured approach to help ensure his client’s success.
Jim holds a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner license (500 ton Master). He has a Certification in project management from the University of Washington, and has received continuing education in shipyard contract management, lean production, leadership, and other management skills.
